In the first quarter of 2024, the top five consumer finance apps in the United Kingdom demonstrated diverse performance patterns on a unified platform, encompassing both iOS and Android. Data from Sensor Tower reveals insights into weekly downloads and active user trends for Monzo - Mobile Banking, Lloyds Bank Mobile Banking, Barclays UK, NatWest Mobile Banking, and Halifax Mobile Banking.
Monzo - Mobile Banking saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, starting strong with 69K in early January and experiencing peaks and troughs throughout the quarter, ending with around 60K in late March. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 2.8M to 2.9M.
Lloyds Bank Mobile Banking maintained a steady download rate, ranging between 38K and 45K per week. Active user counts showed minor variations, fluctuating between 2.5M and 2.7M.
Barclays UK experienced a notable spike in downloads in mid-March, reaching approximately 47K. Active users showed a slight decline from 3.2M at the start of the quarter to around 2.9M by the end.
NatWest Mobile Banking exhibited a consistent growth in downloads, starting at 31K in early January and peaking at 41K by the end of March. Active users increased from 2.7M to 2.8M over the quarter.
Halifax Mobile Banking showed a slight decline in downloads, starting at 33K and ending at approximately 28K. Active users remained fairly stable, averaging around 1.5M throughout the quarter.
