In the second quarter of 2024, the performance of the top five food delivery apps on Android in Kenya revealed interesting trends. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, highlights the weekly downloads and active user metrics for each app.
Glovo: Food Delivery and More saw a consistent rise in weekly downloads, starting from 8.4K in early April and peaking at 11.8K in early May. By the end of June, downloads settled at around 9.8K. Active users followed a similar upward trajectory, beginning at 144.7K in April and reaching 153.7K by the end of June.
Tushop experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads. The app started with 3.9K downloads in early April, saw a peak of 5.5K in late April, and then tapered off to 2K by the end of June.
Bolt Food: Delivery & Takeaway maintained steady weekly downloads, starting at 2.8K in early April and peaking at 3.8K in early June. Active users showed a slight decline from 34.4K in early April to 32.8K by the end of June, despite some fluctuations in between.
Tupande had varied download numbers, beginning at 5K in early April and dropping to 1.1K in mid-June, before slightly increasing to 1.7K by the end of June.
Oaks & Corks - Alcohol Deliver demonstrated a similar pattern of fluctuating downloads. Starting at 2.4K in early April, the app peaked at 2.7K in late April and ended the quarter with 2K downloads.
