The second quarter of 2024 saw notable trends in the performance of the top 5 personal finance budgeting and planning apps on the Android platform in the United States. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides insights into downloads, revenue, and weekly active users for each app.
Rocket Money - Bills & Budgets experienced consistent revenue throughout Q2, peaking at approximately $48K in the week of April 8. Downloads were highest at the beginning of the quarter, with 63K in the first week of April, but saw a decline, reaching around 42K by the end of June. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained above 600K, peaking at 663K in early April.
Cleo: Budget & Cash Advance did not generate revenue during this period. However, the app maintained steady download numbers, with a high of 16K in the week of May 20. Weekly active users showed stability, averaging around 160K, with the highest activity recorded in the last week of June at 161K.
EveryDollar: Budget Tracker saw a revenue peak of $35K in mid-April. Downloads varied, with a notable increase to 7.5K in the last week of May. Active users were relatively stable, averaging around 90K, with a peak of 97K in the week of May 27.
NerdWallet: Manage Your Money also did not generate revenue. The app's downloads peaked at 11K in the week of May 20. Weekly active users saw an increase, peaking at 31K in the same week before stabilizing around 25K.
Splitwise had a revenue peak of $6.6K at the end of April. Downloads were highest in the last week of May at 6.3K. Weekly active users fluctuated, peaking at 29K in the last week of April before ending the quarter at around 25K.
