In the second quarter of 2024, Sensor Tower data reveals notable trends for the top five dining and restaurant applications on the iOS platform in Africa. Here's a closer look at the performance of these popular apps.

McDonald’s - Non-US saw a significant peak in weekly downloads, reaching around 21K in the last week of April. Throughout the quarter, the app maintained a steady download rate, fluctuating between 5.6K and 8.9K. The number of weekly active users initially declined from 42.3K to 39.5K but surged to 56.3K at the end of April, before stabilizing around 45K to 50K in June.

KFC South Africa experienced a stable pattern in weekly downloads, ranging from 3.4K to 4.7K. The app’s active users showed a consistent trend, with a slight increase from 53.6K to 56.7K towards the end of April, followed by a steady level around 52K to 58K throughout May and June.

Spur Family Club demonstrated a consistent performance in weekly downloads, varying between 3.2K and 3.9K. The app maintained a steady rate of downloads, peaking at 3.9K in the final week of June.

Burger King SA showed a sharp increase in weekly downloads mid-quarter, reaching approximately 14.6K in the week of May 13. The downloads then fluctuated between 1.1K and 3.2K for the rest of the quarter.

Debonairs Pizza South Africa experienced a consistent weekly download rate, peaking at around 3.9K in the last week of April and again in the last week of June. The weekly active users increased from 11K to 11.6K at the end of April and maintained a steady range around 10K to 11.5K throughout the quarter.
