In Q2 2024, the Interactive Story Games category on iOS witnessed varying performances among the top contenders. Here's a snapshot of how five key players fared during this period, with data courtesy of Sensor Tower.
Episode - Choose Your Story saw its revenue fluctuate, starting at $524K in the first week of April and reaching a peak of $668K in mid-May. Weekly downloads began at 75K, dipped to 22K in June, and recovered to 50K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed a declining trend from 508K to 316K over the quarter.
Love and Deepspace experienced revenue peaks and valleys, kicking off April with $453K and soaring to $844K in the last week of June. Downloads, however, were less impressive, with an initial 37K that dropped to zero by the end of June. The weekly active users count also saw a slight decrease from 358K to 324K.
Crazy Maple Studio's Chapters: Interactive Stories had a more consistent revenue stream, starting at $244K and ending at $264K, with a high of $409K in mid-April. Downloads began at 49K, peaked at 70K in late May, and closed the quarter at 39K. The weekly active users hovered around the mid-300Ks, ending slightly lower at 300K.
Love Sparks: Make Me Blush by SWAG MASHA showed a revenue pattern with highs and lows, starting at $289K and ending the period at $181K, with a notable spike to $395K in early June. Downloads started strong at 168K, but saw a decline to 58K by late June. Active users started at 407K, dipped to 242K mid-quarter, and rebounded to 304K.
Lastly, Choices: Stories You Play from Pixelberry Studios had a steady revenue, beginning at $113K and hitting $232K in early June, though it slightly dropped to $203K in the final week. Notably, the game had no downloads or active users reported until a minor 4 downloads were recorded in mid-June.
