Sensor Tower's latest data provides an insightful glimpse into the second quarter of 2024 for the top peer-to-peer (P2P) payment applications in the United States. Here's how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Starting with Cash App, downloads started strong at 565K in the first week of April and peaked at 603K by the end of the month. Although the numbers fluctuated, there was an uptick towards the end of June, closing the quarter at 568K. Weekly active users saw a decline from 21M to 20M over the quarter.
Venmo maintained a steady download rate, beginning at 261K and reaching a high of 289K in early June. The app's weekly active users experienced a slight decrease from 18M in early April to 17M by the quarter's end.
Zelle showed consistent download numbers, hovering around 250K throughout the quarter, ending slightly higher at 260K. Its weekly active users remained relatively steady, starting at 1.1M and ending the quarter with a similar figure.
BOSS Money: Send Cash Fast saw its downloads fluctuate modestly, with an initial 16K in April, peaking at 20K in mid-June. The app's active users showed a slight increase from 56K to 60K over the same period.
Lastly, Access Corrections had a quieter quarter, with downloads starting at 8.7K and dipping to 8.2K by the end of June. The weekly active users count started at 64K and saw a marginal decline to 64K by the quarter's close.
