The third quarter of 2024 brought interesting trends for the top music and podcast apps on the Android platform in Israel. Based on data from Sensor Tower, here's a look at the performance of these apps in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts from Spotify AB showed a consistent increase in weekly revenue, starting from about $31.4K in early July and peaking at roughly $37.3K by the end of September. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly, reaching a high of approximately 3.3K in mid-August, while weekly active users remained fairly stable, with a slight dip from around 304K to 294K.
Apple Music experienced a modest decline in weekly revenue, averaging around $2.3K throughout the quarter. Downloads saw a significant spike to 7.5K in mid-August before returning to a more typical range of around 600. Active users for Apple Music hovered around 15K, maintaining a steady presence.
Zing - Jewish Music Streaming from JewishMusic.fm LTD saw weekly revenue fluctuate between $1.1K and $1.4K, with downloads peaking at 164 in mid-August. The app's performance remained relatively stable across the quarter.
Deezer: Music & Podcast Player from Deezer Music experienced a gradual decline in weekly revenue, starting at about $1K and ending the quarter at approximately $560. Downloads remained consistent, fluctuating around 70 to 80, while active users saw a slight decrease from 753 to 669.
Anghami: Play music & Podcasts by Anghami Technologies reported a varied revenue trend, peaking at $553 in late July before settling around $364 by the end of September. Downloads steadily decreased from 426 in early July to 174 by the quarter's end. Active users showed a downward trend, starting at about 18.6K and closing at 14.9K.
