In the third quarter of 2024, the performance of the leading book applications on the unified platform in Sweden showcased interesting trends. Insights from Sensor Tower reveal a dynamic landscape in the books category, with varying patterns in downloads, active users, and revenue across the top apps.
BookBeat: Audiobooks & E-books maintained a steady download rate, starting at approximately 5.6K in early July and experiencing a dip mid-quarter before rebounding to 5.7K by the end of September. Active users fluctuated slightly, peaking at 89K in the beginning and closing the quarter with a similar figure.
Nextory: Audiobooks & E-books saw a gradual decline in downloads, beginning the quarter with 5.6K and tapering off to just under 3K by the end. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, hovering around 47K to 50K throughout the quarter.
Storytel - Audiobooks Library demonstrated a consistent revenue stream, with weekly figures ranging from $16K to $21K. Downloads showed a downward trend initially but picked up towards the end, reaching over 4.1K. Active users increased significantly, starting at 61K and rising to 73K by the end of September.
Biblio Library experienced a varied download pattern, beginning at 2.5K, dipping mid-quarter, and then climbing back to 2.7K. The app's active user base started at 9K and showed minor fluctuations, ending close to its initial figures.
Bokus Play Ljudböcker E-böcker faced a declining trend in downloads from 2.5K at the start to just under 1K by the end of the quarter. Unfortunately, data on active users was not available for this app.
