In the third quarter of 2024, the music and audio app landscape in Egypt saw interesting trends across the top five apps, as reported by Sensor Tower. Let's delve into the performance of these apps on a unified platform.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts showed fluctuations in its weekly revenue, peaking at around $7.7K by the end of July before tapering off to approximately $2.3K in September. Weekly downloads were relatively stable, with a notable increase to 360K in mid-September. Active users hovered around 2.7M, with a slight upward trend towards the end of the quarter.
Anghami: Play music & Podcasts experienced a peak in weekly revenue of about $26.4K in early July, followed by a gradual decline to $21K by the end of September. Downloads reached a high of 73.7K in early September, while active users decreased from 1.2M in July to approximately 1M by the end of the quarter.
StarMaker: Sing Karaoke Songs had a modest revenue stream, with a slight increase to $513 by the end of September. Downloads saw a significant peak at around 49.3K in early September, while active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 220K throughout the quarter.
SoundCloud: Play Music & Songs maintained a steady revenue, peaking at $551 in late September. Downloads showed a downward trend, starting at 65.7K in early July and ending at 49.9K by September. Active users started at 4.2M and slightly decreased to 3.9M over the quarter.
Finally, Deezer: Music & Podcast Player had a steady revenue, with a notable increase to $482 in early September. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 1.1K mid-August before dropping to 121 by the end of September. Active users decreased from 90K in early July to 47K by the end of the quarter.
