During the third quarter of 2024, the social networking landscape in Colombia witnessed interesting trends across the top five apps on a unified platform. Here’s a breakdown of their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat experienced fluctuations in revenue, peaking at around $11K at the start of July and ending the quarter with a similar high of approximately $10.7K. Downloads saw a gradual decline from about 6.2K in early July to 4.9K by the end of September. Meanwhile, weekly active users varied, starting at 152K, peaking mid-July at 167K, and closing the quarter at around 154K.
Facebook demonstrated strong performance in both downloads and active users. Downloads ranged from 215K to a peak of 342K in early September. Revenue saw a gradual increase, reaching a high of $7.8K at the end of the quarter. Weekly active users remained consistently high, fluctuating slightly around the 28M mark.
Telegram Messenger showed a steady revenue increase, ending September at $5.2K. Downloads were volatile, with a significant peak of 254K in late August. The app maintained over 2M weekly active users, with slight variations throughout the quarter.
Skype had modest revenue figures, peaking at $3.3K in late September. Downloads increased from 4.5K in mid-July to 6.2K in late August. Weekly active users hovered around 43K, remaining stable through the period.
Lastly, Candy Chat - Live video chat showed a varied revenue pattern, closing the quarter with $3.1K. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 5K in early July. Active users ranged from 59K to 71K, with a notable increase in early September.
