In the fourth quarter of 2024, the food and drink app market in Portugal saw notable activity. Here’s a breakdown of the performance for the top five apps, based on Sensor Tower data.
McDonald’s showed fluctuating weekly downloads, starting at 12.6K and peaking at 20.1K in late November. Active users began at 305K, rising to a peak of 434.7K in the same timeframe.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste experienced a decline in downloads from 10K to 4.3K mid-quarter, with a slight rebound to 7.9K by year-end. Active users similarly decreased from 200.8K to 142.5K, before a final rise to 158K.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries maintained steady downloads, fluctuating around 7K, with a notable increase to 9.4K in late December. Active users consistently hovered around 500K, peaking at 564.7K mid-December.
TheFork - Restaurant bookings saw a steady rise in downloads, from 6.1K to 8.1K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed an initial increase from 180.6K to 225.8K, before a decline to 167.6K in late December.
BURGER KING - Portugal downloads remained relatively stable, starting at 6.4K and ending at 5.7K. Active user numbers fluctuated slightly, beginning at 136.2K and closing the quarter at 138.2K.
