In the fourth quarter of 2024, the food delivery landscape in Kenya saw varied performances across the top apps, with Glovo: Food Delivery, Takeaway leading in downloads. Weekly downloads for Glovo fluctuated, peaking at 14.7K in early October and closing the year at around 11.9K. Meanwhile, active users showed a slight decline from 272K to 208K.
Bolt Food also demonstrated a steady rise in downloads, starting at 4.8K and reaching a peak of 6.1K in late December. Active users for Bolt increased from 56K to approximately 69K, indicating a growing user base.
Dial A Delivery 2.0 experienced a significant spike in downloads mid-quarter, reaching 4.5K in late October, before stabilizing around 3.4K by the end of December.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries saw a remarkable increase in downloads, jumping from 1.2K to a high of 13.9K in the last week of December. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 48K and 56K.
Finally, Tushop: Quick Grocery Shopping had a varied download performance, starting strong at 2.7K but declining to 273 by the end of the quarter.
