Top Navigation and Maps Apps Performance in the US, Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps applications in the United States showed varying trends in downloads and active user engagement, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Google Maps Go maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads consistently around 360K to 460K. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly, starting at 181M and closing the quarter at 181.4M.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a steady number of weekly downloads, hovering between 170K and 220K. Its active user base showed a minor decline from 20.5M to 19.4M by the end of December.

Google Earth saw a significant spike in downloads mid-December, peaking at 361K, with active users reaching a high of 3.1M during the same period.

Camera Location: Geotag Photos had a notable increase in downloads early in the quarter, reaching 89K. Active users peaked at 40.2K in December, showing a resurgence towards the end of the quarter.

Live Earth Map & GPS Map saw a gradual rise in weekly revenue, particularly in December, reaching $1.4K. Downloads varied, with a peak of 62K at the start of the quarter, and active users remained steady around 120K.
