The first quarter of 2025 saw varied performance trends among the leading carpooling and ridesharing apps in the United States. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared.
Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 290K and 346K. Active users showed growth, reaching over 20M by the end of March.
Lyft experienced steady weekly downloads, varying from 227K to 265K. Active users increased significantly, peaking at over 11M by the quarter's end.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver saw weekly downloads ranging from 131K to 149K. The app's active user base was stable, with numbers hovering around 3M throughout the quarter.
Waymo showed an upward trend in downloads, starting at 44K and climbing to nearly 80K by the end of March. Active users also increased steadily, reaching over 350K.
Finally, Lyft Driver maintained weekly downloads between 41K and 54K, with a consistent active user base of around 1.2M.
