In the first quarter of 2025, the top communication apps in Portugal showed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady presence with weekly downloads starting at around 16.4K and gradually declining to 9.3K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with approximately 7.1M users.

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw its weekly downloads decrease from 14K to about 8.2K. Active users also displayed a slight decline, closing the quarter with around 2.2M users. Revenue remained low throughout the quarter, peaking at $32 in mid-January.

Telegram experienced moderate weekly revenues, starting at $6.9K and peaking at $8.7K. Downloads showed a downward trend, starting at 17.4K and ending at 12.8K. Active users fluctuated, ending at approximately 1.5M.

Sync.ME: Caller ID & Contacts demonstrated stable performance, with weekly revenue starting at $4.3K and reaching $5.3K. Downloads varied from 6.7K to 8.3K, while active users ended the quarter at about 386K.

Snapchat saw its weekly revenue start at $1.6K and rise to $2.1K by the end of March. Downloads decreased from 9.8K to 7.2K. Active users showed fluctuation, ending with approximately 459K.
