The first quarter of 2025 saw interesting trends in the performance of navigation and maps apps on a unified platform in France. Here's a closer look at the metrics for the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a robust presence with weekly downloads peaking at approximately 84.6K at the end of December, gradually declining to around 72.7K by the end of March. Meanwhile, weekly active users showed a steady rise from 16M to 16.5M over the quarter.
Google Maps experienced a consistent decline in weekly downloads from 61.6K to 57.8K. However, weekly active users displayed a slight upward trend, increasing from 37.8M to 39.1M by the end of March.
Polarsteps Travel showed fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at 39K and peaking at 55.4K mid-quarter, before settling at 47.1K. Weekly active users increased from 455K to nearly 498K.
Google Earth had a gradual increase in weekly downloads, reaching 36.6K by the end of March. The number of weekly active users also rose, peaking at around 979K in mid-January before stabilizing at approximately 800K.
Mappy - GPS, trafic & prix saw a steady increase in downloads, starting at 11K and reaching a high of 21K. Active users increased from 485K to 487K during the quarter.
