In the second quarter of 2025, the top social apps on the Android platform in South America showcased interesting trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a detailed look at the performance of these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
TikTok Lite - Save Data & Fast experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 1.33M in late May. Revenue saw a high of approximately $3.8K in early June, while active users steadily rose from 15.6M to 18.3M by the end of the quarter.
TikTok - Videos, Shop & LIVE maintained strong weekly revenue, with figures consistently around $940K, except for a slight dip to $816K at the end of June. Weekly downloads remained robust, surpassing 1M in mid-May, and active users hovered near 95M throughout the quarter.
Instagram saw a steady growth in weekly downloads, reaching over 1M at the beginning of June. Revenue increased gradually, culminating in $185K by the end of June. Active users remained stable, slightly fluctuating around 146M.
Facebook showed a modest increase in weekly revenue, reaching $70K by the end of the quarter. Downloads also increased, with a peak of 675K in late May. The number of active users, however, saw a slight decline from 135M to 133M.
Threads had a varied download pattern, with a high of 727K at the start of the quarter, followed by fluctuations. Active users decreased initially but rebounded to 38.2M by the end of June.
