In the second quarter of 2025, the top food and drink applications in the US showed varied performance on the unified platform, encompassing both iOS and Android. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, reveals interesting trends in downloads and active user engagement.
DoorDash - Food Delivery displayed a robust download trend, beginning the quarter with approximately 403K downloads and peaking mid-quarter at around 492K. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users hovering around 26M, seeing a slight increase to 28.5M in early May before settling back to around 26M by the end of June.
McDonald's experienced a high initial download rate of about 491K, with a slight decline throughout the quarter, ending at approximately 375K. Active users fluctuated, with a peak of 31M in late April before decreasing to around 27.7M by the close of the quarter.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries saw a consistent download pattern, starting at 227K and seeing periodic increases, reaching nearly 259K in late June. The app's active user count remained relatively stable, peaking at 12M in early June and closing at approximately 11M.
Taco Bell Fast Food & Delivery maintained a steady download rate, beginning the quarter with 213K and experiencing a slight increase to 232K at the end of April. Active users showed a dynamic pattern, with a notable peak of 7.8M in late April, stabilizing around 7M towards the end of June.
Finally, Domino's Pizza USA experienced a varied download trajectory, starting at approximately 179K, peaking at 223K in late April, and ending with 171K. Active user numbers reflected a similar pattern, peaking at around 6.5M in early June before settling at 5.7M by the end of the quarter.
