In the third quarter of 2025, the ridesharing and carpooling app market in Spain showed varied performance across the top five apps on the Android platform. According to data from Sensor Tower, here’s an overview of how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads and active users.
Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 31K and 39K. Active users began at around 1.2M, dipped mid-quarter, and then climbed back to approximately 1.2M by the end of September.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced consistent weekly downloads, starting from 12K and peaking at over 20K. The active user base showed a slight upward trend, ending the quarter at approximately 419K.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus had a steady performance in downloads, with numbers ranging from 10K to 23K. Active users saw a slight decrease from 391K to around 383K throughout the quarter.
Cabify showed varied download numbers, starting at 25K and stabilizing around 14K towards the end of the quarter. Active user figures dropped from 504K to about 464K by September's end.
Freenow by Lyft - taxi & more saw weekly downloads ranging from 6K to 10K. Active users decreased initially but rose to approximately 138K by the end of the quarter.
