The third quarter of 2025 saw notable trends in the carpooling and ridesharing sector in the United Arab Emirates. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps on a unified platform, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.
Careem: Rides, grocery & more showed a robust increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 31K and peaking at over 45K by the end of September. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users climbing from 1.15M to 1.52M.
Yango: taxi, food, delivery had a steady download rate, fluctuating around 16K to 20K over the quarter. Active users increased from about 103K to 146K.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a varied download trend, starting at 13K and ending at nearly 20K. The app's active users grew significantly from around 94K to 164K.
Uber - Request a ride downloads increased from 10K to 15K, while active users rose from 125K to 169K, indicating a consistent upward trend.
Zed: Book your taxi ride showed modest download growth, moving from 5.5K to 8K. Active users varied throughout the quarter, ending at around 29K.
