In the third quarter of 2025, the top navigation and maps applications in the Netherlands showed varying performance trends, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a detailed look at how these apps fared.
Polarsteps Travel experienced significant fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at 42K and peaking at 67.8K in late July. The app maintained a strong user base, with active users reaching up to 1.9M in early August before settling at 1.3M by the end of the quarter.
ANWB Onderweg & Wegenwacht saw a decline in downloads from 36K to 14.6K by September's end. Active users peaked at 759K in early August, with some fluctuations leading to 584K by late September.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained relatively stable download numbers, fluctuating between 13K and 19.5K. Active user numbers were robust, reaching a high of 860K in late July and closing the quarter at 807K.
Flitsmeister reported consistent weekly downloads around 12K to 16K. Revenue peaked at approximately $220K in early July, with a stable active user base around 1M throughout the quarter.
Google Maps remained a leader with minimal revenue but consistent downloads ranging from 10.4K to 12.1K. It boasted a vast user base, maintaining over 11M active users during the quarter.
