In the third quarter of 2025, the top social apps in Kenya demonstrated varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active user metrics, according to data from Sensor Tower.
TikTok - Videos, Shop & LIVE experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $25.2K in mid-July. Downloads showed a significant upward trend, reaching a high of 123.8K in the first week of September. The app maintained robust weekly active users, consistently hovering around 8.9M.
Facebook Lite saw a relatively stable revenue stream with a notable rise to $2.8K at the end of September. Downloads peaked at 123K during early August, while active users saw gradual growth, reaching over 6M by September.
Instagram Lite displayed a steady decline in revenue, ending the quarter at $2K. However, downloads surged to 130.4K in the first week of August. Active users remained consistent, averaging around 4.1M throughout the quarter.
BIBO - Friends, Chat, Call experienced a gradual increase in revenue, peaking at $1K mid-September. Downloads saw a decline towards the end of the quarter, falling to 24.5K. Active users, however, showed growth, reaching over 102K by mid-September.
SOYO: Meet & Chat Party had a stable revenue trend, hovering around $700. Downloads peaked at 20.5K in the week of August 18. Active users saw a decline, with numbers dropping to 39.2K by the end of September.
