In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in the United States exhibited varied performance trends. Here's a detailed look at their weekly downloads and active user metrics, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride saw a fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at around 128K and experiencing a dip to approximately 78K by the end of December. The app maintained a robust base of weekly active users, peaking at over 6.5M in mid-December.
For Lyft, downloads began at 100K, with a gradual decline to about 68K towards the end of the quarter. Active users peaked at around 4.2M in late October but tapered to 3.5M by the year's end.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver downloads were relatively stable, starting at 54K and dropping to 42K. Active user numbers showed an upward trend, reaching about 1.7M in the last week of December.
Waymo had consistent weekly downloads around 24K, with a slight dip to 20K in December. Active users increased significantly, peaking at approximately 185K in early December, before a decline towards the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Lyft Driver downloads started at 21K and decreased to 16K. Active users showed growth, reaching a peak of 429K in the final week of December.
