In the fourth quarter of 2025, the Maps and Navigation category on Android in the Netherlands showcased intriguing trends. Based on data from Sensor Tower, here's a closer look at the top 5 apps.
Shell experienced a significant spike in weekly downloads in early December, reaching a peak of approximately 118K. Prior to this, downloads fluctuated between 2K and 8K. The app's weekly active users showed a consistent upward trend, beginning at 32K and climbing to over 64K by the end of the quarter.
Downloads for ANWB Onderweg & Wegenwacht remained relatively stable throughout the quarter, with numbers ranging between 7K and 10K. Active users started at around 333K, dipped mid-quarter, and then surged to nearly 384K by the end.
Uber's weekly downloads varied, starting at 10K and dipping to 5K before rising again to over 9K. Active users also displayed variability, ranging from 118K to 162K, with a notable increase towards the end of December.
Waze saw a gradual decline in downloads, beginning at 8K and closing the quarter with about 3K. Despite this, active users remained robust, hovering around 300K to 370K throughout the period.
Bolt's downloads exhibited a downward trend initially, dropping from 6K to 3K, but concluded with a slight recovery to 5K. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 63K, peaking at 87K, and ending at 67K.
