In the fourth quarter of 2025, the Food & Drink app category on the iOS platform in Portugal showcased intriguing trends, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the top five apps in this category.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste experienced varied weekly download figures, starting at approximately 6K and dropping to around 2.2K by the end of December. The app maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users peaking at about 89K at the beginning of October and stabilizing to around 75K by the end of the year.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, rising from roughly 3.5K in late September to over 4.2K by the year's end. Active users showed some fluctuation, with a notable peak of about 302K in early December before declining to approximately 252K.
McDonald’s maintained consistent download numbers, hovering around 3.2K throughout the quarter. Active user engagement was significant, with numbers fluctuating between 127K and 191K, highlighting a strong user retention rate.
TheFork - Restaurant bookings demonstrated a steady download rate, initially around 2.6K and closing the quarter at nearly 2.9K. The app enjoyed an increase in active users, reaching up to 121K, indicating growing popularity.
Finally, Bolt Food recorded a gradual rise in downloads, starting at about 2.6K and spiking to over 4K by December. Weekly active users remained stable, averaging around 61K to 68K, showcasing consistent user interaction.
