In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top communication apps in the United States showcased varied performance trends on the unified platform, as gathered by Sensor Tower.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady presence in the market with weekly downloads fluctuating between 541K and 820K. Despite a decrease towards the end of the quarter, the app consistently engaged over 120M weekly active users. Revenue was minimal, peaking briefly at $7 during mid-November.
Snapchat experienced an upward trend in weekly revenue, reaching a high of approximately $7.9M by mid-December. Downloads varied from 364K to 461K, while active user engagement remained robust, peaking at around 71M.
Messenger from Meta Platforms saw a gradual increase in weekly revenue, culminating at $23.7K at the end of December. Weekly downloads ranged from 310K to 509K, with active users reaching a high of 123M by the end of the quarter.
Telegram demonstrated consistent growth in revenue, peaking at $2.2M in late December. Downloads showed fluctuations, with a notable peak of 488K in early December, while active users hovered around 39M to 40M.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out saw significant revenue growth, reaching $2.7M in the week of December 22. Downloads remained steady, ranging from 339K to 422K, and active users consistently stayed above 41M.
