In the fourth quarter of 2025, the top food delivery apps in the United States showed varying trends in downloads and active user engagement across a unified platform. Here, we explore the performance of these leading apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
DoorDash: Food, Grocery, More saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 409K at the beginning of October and reaching 448K by the end of December. The app maintained a strong presence with active users, peaking at around 28.7M in the last week of the quarter.
The DoorDash - Dasher app experienced fluctuations in downloads, beginning the quarter at 299K, dipping mid-quarter, and then rising to 283K by the end. Active users showed a steady increase, ending the year with around 4.4M.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries maintained stable weekly downloads throughout the quarter, with a notable increase to 251K in the final week. Active user numbers varied slightly but remained robust, closing the quarter with approximately 10.6M users.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste showed a decline in downloads from 164K at the start of October to 104K by the end of December. Despite this, the app's active users peaked at 4.6M in early December before seeing a reduction towards the end of the quarter.
Finally, Instacart: Groceries & Food downloads showed a slight decrease from 137K at the beginning of the quarter to 123K by the end. The app's user activity peaked at 11.8M in early December, with a gradual decline towards the end of the year.
