2026 State of Mobile is Live!

According to Sensor Tower’s App Performance Insights, Honor of Kings led global revenue in April 2026, supported by a strong live-ops cadence. The April 1 Season 43 update introduced new heroes, content and gameplay improvements, while a mid-month cross-title event connected the core game with Honor of Kings: World, Tencent’s newly released open-world adventure spinoff. Players could complete tasks in the newer title to earn in-game rewards including Lucky Draw vouchers and Epic Skin prizes. A late-April Ne Zha 2 collaboration added further IP appeal through a limited-time crossover skin. Together, these updates combined fresh gameplay content, ecosystem engagement, and high-profile cosmetics to sustain spending momentum throughout the month.
Last War:Survival Game ranked second in April 2026, remaining one of the month’s top revenue performers. Its momentum was sustained by the Easter Celebration event, which continued through the first week of April and featured an Easter Lucky Draw, Battle Pass tasks, and redeemable rewards such as exclusive Base skins and special effects.
Whiteout Survival, Royal Match and Gossip Harbor also maintained strong positions in April’s global revenue ranking, supported by focused seasonal and progression-driven live ops. Key events included Whiteout Survival’s Treasure Hunter event, which delivered the title’s biggest revenue spike of the month, Royal Match’s Easter Pass and major level updates, and Gossip Harbor’s Cyber Easter 2026 campaign. Collectively, these titles show how festive themes, limited-time rewards, and steady content refreshes can convert repeat engagement into sustained revenue momentum.

Global consumer spending on mobile games across the App Store and Google Play reached $6.4 billion in April, down 4% month-over-month. The United States led with 30% of total revenue, followed by China (iOS only) at 16.6% and Japan at 11.9%.
SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL rose to No. 1 worldwide by revenue growth in April, driven by its major 1st Anniversary update. The April 1 event introduced new story content from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz and Mobile Suit Gundam 00, two entries from the long-running Gundam anime franchise, along with high-rarity units including Wing Gundam Zero (EW) and 00 Raiser Final Battle Version. On April 3, the game recorded its highest single-day IAP revenue since launch, with later events and gacha campaigns helping extend spending momentum through the month.
Konami’s eFootball also saw strong revenue growth in April, supported by milestone and crossover campaigns. The 1 Billion Downloads Campaign offered limited-time opportunities to sign players such as Ronaldinho Gaúcho, while the NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Campaign added anime IP appeal through a special Neymar Jr card with a Naruto Uzumaki design, helping sustain engagement and spending.
April’s revenue growth chart also reflected the importance of active live ops across genres. Delta Force ranked No. 3 by revenue growth, with its biggest spike coming from the April 15 New Season update, which introduced the new Recon operator Echo, a new battlefield map, refreshed zones, and premium cosmetics. Roco Kingdom: World ranked No. 5, as the newly released open-world adventure title converted early engagement into spending through a busy live-ops calendar, led by the 15-day Good Night, Pajama Party outfit bundle event. Mahjong Soul ranked No. 10, driven by its collaboration with the popular anime franchise Sword Art Online, which added characters from the series Kirito, Asuna, Leafa, and Sinon as playable mahjong characters alongside themed outfits and decorations.
Collectively, April’s fastest-growing titles show how major anniversary updates, recognizable IP collaborations, new season launches, and limited-time cosmetics remain powerful levers for converting active fan engagement into revenue growth.
Block Blast! remained the most downloaded mobile game globally in April 2026, maintaining its No. 1 position from the prior period. Free Fire remained at No. 2, followed by Arrows Puzzle Escape, ROBLOX, and Arrows GO! completing the top five by downloads.

Block Blast! held its global No. 1 position for downloads in April, continuing to scale its hypercasual footprint across Indonesia, India, and Brazil. With more than 830 million lifetime downloads, the block puzzler remains a leading example of how simple mechanics, short sessions, and broad market reach can drive sustained global adoption.
Free Fire maintained its No. 2 position worldwide by downloads in April, sustaining strong adoption across its broad global audience through consistent live-ops refreshes. The Undersea Mystery event, launched on April 7, invited players to explore an Undersea Realm and chase rare rewards, while the late-month Free Fire x GINTAMA collaboration added crossover appeal through characters such as Gintoki, Kagura, and Elizabeth. Together, these events helped keep both new and existing players engaged through themed exploration, limited-time rewards, and recognizable anime IP.
Global mobile game downloads reached 3.6 billion in April, up 9% month-over-month. India led with 613 million downloads (17.1%), followed by the United States (7.3%) and Indonesia (6.3%).
On the downloads growth charts, Arrows Puzzle Escape and Arrows GO! took the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, reflecting the strength of the arrow-sort puzzle formula. Simple top-down controls, flat visuals, and instantly understandable mechanics made both titles easy to pick up, well suited for short sessions, and scalable across broad global markets.
Honor of Kings: World ranked No. 4 worldwide by downloads growth in April and was the No. 1 most downloaded mobile game in China, quickly gaining traction after its March 2026 launch. Unlike the original Honor of Kings, which is built around competitive MOBA battles, Honor of Kings: World expands the franchise into a third-person open-world adventure format, using high-fantasy exploration, stylized realistic visuals, and broader action RPG elements to reach players beyond the core MOBA audience.
NTE: Neverness to Everness ranked No. 6 worldwide by downloads growth in April, quickly gaining traction after its launch that month. The new open-world adventure title stands out through its third-person sci-fi setting and 3D anime visual style, offering a more futuristic, story-driven alternative within a genre often dominated by fantasy worlds. Its early traction across China, the U.S., Taiwan, Japan, and Indonesia suggests strong global interest in anime-styled open-world experiences with a modern sci-fi edge.
Beyond the top titles, April’s download growth rankings showed that simple, accessible formats remained a key driver of mobile gaming discovery. Bus Simulator India gained traction through realistic bus-driving simulation tailored to high-volume emerging markets, while Marble Sort! and Bus Rush Fever! leaned into intuitive sorting mechanics, short sessions, and highly repeatable puzzle loops. Pistol Duel added variety through a lightweight arcade combat format, showing how simple controls and instantly understandable gameplay can still scale quickly across global audiences.
