Top Apps Worldwide by Publishers based in Japan for Q1 2019

The most downloaded app worldwide for Q1 2019 by a publisher based in Japan was Snowball.io from Geisha Tokyo Inc. with close to 14 million new installs. Its largest share of installs in Q1 came from the United States at 26 percent, followed by China at 10 percent and South Korea at 9 percent. The full top 10 ranking of apps by publishers based in Japan by downloads for Q1 2019 is above. App download estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

Super Mario Run from Nintendo was the second most installed app worldwide by a publisher based in Japan last quarter with close to 12 million estimated downloads. The largest percentage of its installs for the quarter came from the United States at 17 percent, followed by Brazil at 11 percent. SonyLIV from Sony Pictures Networks, PAC-MAN from Bandai Namco, and Winning Eleven 2019 from Konami made up the rest of the top five most downloaded apps last quarter from publishers in Japan.
