Top Fintech Apps for 2018 by Downloads

See the top Fintech apps by downloads worldwide and in the U.S. for 2018 according to Sensor Tower data.

Google Pay for India (formerly Tez) was the top fintech app in 2018 by worldwide downloads, with more than 78 million installs. First-time installs of the app grew 138 percent year-over-year from 2017. The full ranking of the top 10 most downloaded news apps worldwide is above. App download estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

PhonePe was the second most downloaded fintech app worldwide last year with close to 49 million installs. The next most downloaded app was Alipay, followed by PayPal, and Sberbank.

Top Fintech Apps by Downloads in the U.S. for 2018

In the United States, Square's Cash App was the most installed fintech app with close to 23 million downloads, representing an 86 percent increase from 2017. Venmo was the second most downloaded fintech app with more than 16 million installs, followed by PayPal, Credit Karma, and Capital One.
