The most downloaded fintech app in the United States for April 2019 was Square’s Cash App with close to two million installs, an increase 16 percent from April 2018. Venmo was the second most installed fintech app in the U.S. last month with close to 1.7 million downloads, which represented a 54 percent year-over-year increase from April 2018. PayPal, Credit Karma, and Zelle comprised the remainder of the top five most installed fintech apps last month.

Our estimates include downloads for the App Store and Google Play in the U.S. between Apr. 1, 2018 and Apr. 30, 2019. Apple apps and Google pre-installed apps are excluded.
