Google Pay was the most downloaded fintech app worldwide for January 2020 with 13.4 million installs, which represented a 51 percent increase from January 2019. The countries with the most installs of the app during this period were India at 82.6 percent of its total downloads and Russia at 5.5 percent. PhonePe was the second most installed fintech app worldwide last month with 6.3 million installs, which represented a 1.6 percent increase from January 2019. The country with the largest number of PhonePe installs was India at 99.3 percent of its total. PayPal, Alipay, and Cash App rounded out the top five most installed fintech apps worldwide for the month.
