The top grossing mobile game in Southeast Asia for November 2022 was Mobile Legends: Bang Bang from Moonton with close to $10.6 million in player spending. About 36.2 percent of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s revenue in Southeast Asia was from Indonesia, followed by 28.9 percent from Malaysia and 18.8 percent from Philippines. Garena Free Fire (including Garena Free Fire MAX) was the second highest earning mobile game in Southeast Asia for November 2022 with nearly $7.4 million in user spending. 40.6 percent of Garena Free Fire’s revenue in Southeast Asia was from Thailand, followed by 31.6 percent from Indonesia and 17.1 percent from Malaysia.
The Southeast Asia mobile games market generated an estimated $197 million from player spending across the App Store and Google Play in November 2022, marking a decrease of 6.5 percent year over year. The No.1 market for Southeast Asia revenue in November 2022 was Thailand, which generated close to $47 million, or 23.7 percent of total player spending in Southeast Asia. Indonesia ranked No. 2 for revenue at 17.9 percent, followed by Singapore at 17.2 percent.
Genshin Impact from COGONOSPHERE generated over $6 million in Southeast Asia, a rise of 41 percent month over month. The surge in revenue is coincident with the version 3.2 update, which introduces the fourth elemental Archon, Nahida, who wields the game’s newest elemental type Dendro. In November, Singapore accounted for 26.3 percent of Genshin Impact’s Southeast Asia player spending, Malaysia followed closely with 23.9 percent and Vietnam ranked third with 15.5 percent.
