The top grossing mobile game worldwide for April 2022 was Honor of Kings from Tencent with $274.5 million in player spending, which represented 6.2 percent growth from April 2021. About 96.4 percent of Honor of Kings’ revenue was from China, followed by 1.4 percent from Thailand and 1.4 percent from Taiwan. PUBG Mobile from Tencent was the second highest earning mobile game worldwide for April 2022 with approximately $218 million in gross revenue. About 61.7 percent of PUBG Mobile’s revenue was from China, where it has been localized as Game For Peace, followed by 8.8 percent from the United States. The next top grossing game was Genshin Impact from miHoYo, followed by Candy Crush Saga from King and Roblox from Roblox Corporation.

The global mobile games market generated an estimated $7 billion from player spending across the App Store and Google Play in April 2022, marking a decrease of 4.6 percent year-over-year. The No. 1 market for global revenue in April 2022 was the U.S., which generated $1.9 billion, or 27.7 percent of total player spending worldwide. China, where Google Play is not available, ranked No. 2 for revenue at 20.4 percent, followed by Japan at approximately 18 percent.
