Subway Surfers from Miniclip’s Sybo Games was the most downloaded mobile game worldwide for August 2022 with 33.5 million installs, which represented an 89.4 percent increase from August 2021. The countries with the most installs of the game during this period were China at 28.5 percent of its total downloads and India at 13.3 percent. Stumble Guys from Kitka Games was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month with 26.5 million downloads, which represented an 8.7 times increase from August 2021. The countries with the largest number of Stumble Guys installs were Indonesia at 15.2 percent, followed by the United States at 14 percent. Garena Free Fire from Garena, GT Car Stunt Master 3D from Zego Global, and Candy Crush Saga from King rounded out the top five most installed mobile games worldwide for the month.
The global mobile games market generated 4.6 billion downloads across the App Store and Google Play in August 2022, marking a decrease of 1.6 percent year-over-year. The No. 1 market for global game downloads was India, which accumulated 787.5 million installs, or 17 percent of total worldwide downloads. Brazil ranked No. 2 for downloads at 8.2 percent, overtaking the U.S. at No. 3, which accounted for 8.1 percent of total installs.
