Top Mobile Games Worldwide for December 2020 by Downloads

Among Us from InnerSloth was the most downloaded mobile game worldwide for December 2020 with 41.2 million installs, which represented a more than 36 times increase from December 2019. The countries with the most installs of the game during this period were the United States at 17.5 percent and Brazil at 9.3 percent. The full top 10 ranking of mobile games worldwide by downloads for December 2020 is above. Game download estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

Join Clash 3D from Supersonic was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month with close to 29 million installs, which represented a a more than 2,680 times increase from December 2019. The countries with the largest number of Join Clash 3D installs were India at 39.7 percent, followed by Indonesia at 7 percent. Sushi Roll 3D from Say Games, Roof Rails from Voodoo, and Shortcut Run from Voodoo rounded out the top five most installed mobile games worldwide for the month.

League of Legends: Wild Rift from Riot Games is one of the most high profile recent launches on mobile, and in December claimed 3.6 million downloads on the App Store, enough to break into the top 10 for installs. Mobile MOBAs have classically found the West to be a challenging market, and it will be interesting to see if the League of Legends brand can change these fortunes. Currently, the title’s No. 1 country for App Store downloads is Vietnam, followed by Turkey and Taiwan. Another new entry to the charts is Imposter Solo Kill from IEC Games, which generated 16 million downloads across the App Store and Google Play combined. The title is inspired by Among Us, but instead focuses on a 3D art style and a levels-based single-player mode.

Call of Duty: Mobile by Activision, developed in partnership with Tencent, had its best month for downloads since November 2019 following a successful launch in China on Christmas. The title racked up 16.6 million installs last month, with 58.5 percent of those coming from China’s App Store. It’s a sign that, while Chinese publishers are successfully expanding internationally, U.S. publishers can do the same in China with the support of a local partner.
