Top News Apps Worldwide for Q2 2019 by Downloads

Opera News was the most downloaded news app worldwide for Q2 2019 with more than 15 million installs, which represented 3.5x growth from Q2 2018. The countries with the most installs of the app during this period were India at 59 percent of its total downloads and Egypt at 9 percent. The full top 10 ranking of news apps worldwide by downloads for Q2 2019 is above. App download estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

Cricbuzz was the second most installed news app worldwide in the quarter with more than 13 million installs, which represented a 15 percent increase from Q2 2018. The countries with the largest number of Cricbuzz installs were India at 92 percent, followed by Pakistan at 2.4 percent. Dailyhunt, Toutiao, and Aaj Tak rounded out the top five most installed news apps worldwide for the quarter.
