Top Weather Apps for 2018 by Downloads
See the top Weather apps by downloads worldwide and in the U.S. for 2018 according to Sensor Tower data.
The top weather app in 2018 by worldwide downloads was The Weather Channel, with close to 24 million installs and more than $478,000 in gross revenue. The full ranking of the top 10 most downloaded weather apps worldwide is above. App download estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.
Weather & Radar was the second most downloaded weather app worldwide last year with more than 17 million installs. The next most downloaded weather app was Weather Live, followed by NOAA Weather and AccuWeather.
Of the top weather apps, both Weather Live and NOAA Weather saw significant revenue growth at close to 5.5x and 8x what they grossed in 2017, at more than $12 million and $13 million, respectively.
In the United States, The Weather Channel was the most installed weather app last year with close to 12 million downloads. AccuWeather was the second most downloaded weather app in the U.S. during 2018 with more than six million installs. The next most downloaded app was NOAA Weather, followed by MyRadar NOAA and WeatherBug.
