In the fourth quarter of 2025, the food delivery app landscape in New Zealand showcased diverse trends across the top five applications. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps experienced varying patterns in weekly downloads and active user engagement.
DoorDash: Food, Grocery, More maintained a consistent download rate, with numbers peaking at around 8.6K in early October and gradually declining to 5.9K by the end of December. During the same period, weekly active users fluctuated, starting at approximately 148.8K and ending at 120.5K.
Uber Eats: Food & Groceries saw a notable increase in downloads towards the end of the quarter, reaching a high of 7.3K in mid-December. Active users showed an early rise from 207.8K to a peak of 253.9K in late October before stabilizing around 207.1K.
The newly released Gone Good app experienced a surge in downloads shortly after launch, peaking at 7.2K in mid-October. However, the numbers fell significantly towards the quarter's end, closing at 257.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste demonstrated an initial spike in both downloads and active users, with downloads hitting a peak of 19.6K in mid-October and active users reaching over 16K by the end of the month. Both metrics saw a gradual decline as the quarter progressed.
Delivereasy, a local favorite, maintained a steady user base with active users peaking at 39.1K in late December. Download numbers were relatively stable, ranging from around 1.8K to 1.4K throughout the quarter.
