The top grossing mobile game worldwide for June 2020 was Honor of Kings from Tencent with more than $193 million in user spending, which represented 50.4 percent growth from June 2019. Approximately 95 percent of Honor of Kings’ revenue was from China, followed by 2.1 percent from Thailand and 1.8 percent from Taiwan. These totals don’t include third-party Android revenue from the title. The full ranking of the top grossing mobile games for June 2020 is above. PUBG Mobile from Tencent was the second highest earning mobile game worldwide for June 2020 with more than $168 million in gross revenue, which represented 12.8 percent year-over-year growth from June 2019. About 53 percent of PUBG Mobile’s revenue was from its localized version, Game For Peace, in China, followed by 10.4 percent from the United States. The next top grossing app was Monster Strike from Mixi, followed by Roblox from Roblox Corporation and Pokémon GO from Niantic.
Following its launch in China in June, Brawl Stars from Supercell rocketed to No. 6 in the overall revenue rankings, marking its highest grossing month ever. The title generated $84 million in June, a three times increase from June 2019, with half of last month’s player spending emanating from China. Brawl Stars also surged into the App Store’s top download chart in June, ranking No. 2 with 9.7 million new installs.
Rise of Kingdoms from Lilith Games rose further up the overall revenue rankings to No. 8 in June, accumulating $78 million, which, as with Brawl Stars, also represented its best month ever for player spending. The recent rise in revenue has been helped by record 2020 spending for the U.S. market and surging sales in Japan where the game launched in December 2019.
