Top Mobile Games Worldwide for October 2020 by Downloads

Among Us from InnerSloth remained the most downloaded mobile game worldwide for October 2020 with approximately 74.8 million installs, which represented a 50-times increase from October 2019. The countries with the most installs of the game during this period were India at 15 percent of its total downloads and the United States at 11.6 percent. The full top 10 ranking of mobile games worldwide by downloads for October 2020 is above. Game download estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

Subway Surfers from Sybo Games was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month with 19.8 million installs, which represented a 13.7 percent increase from October 2019. The countries with the largest number of Subway Surfers installs were India at 27.3 percent, followed by Brazil at 8 percent. Join Clash 3D from Supersonic, Garena Free Fire from Garena Games, and Genshin Impact from miHoYo rounded out the top five most installed mobile games worldwide for the month.

Among Us had its second best month yet in October, picking up nearly four times as many installs as the No. 2 ranked game, Subway Surfers. By the end of last month, the viral hit had surpassed 200 million lifetime installs on mobile.

Another global success story, Genshin Impact, entered the top downloads chart at No. 5 with an estimated 16.4 million installs last month. The title was the top grossing game worldwide in October, generating close to $239 million, with less than a third of player spending coming from publisher miHoYo’s home country, China.

Store Intelligence users can see app download estimates for the above apps in addition to historical performance metrics on the Sensor Tower platform. Our estimates include downloads for the App Store and Google Play worldwide between October 1, 2019 and October 31, 2020. Apple apps and Google pre-installed apps are excluded. We report unique installs only. Android estimates do not include third-party stores. Figures represent aggregate installs of all app versions, ex: Facebook and Facebook Lite.
