Gardenscapes from Playrix was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month with more than 37.7 million installs, which represented a 4x increase from April 2019. The countries with the largest number of Gardenscapes installs were India at 22.7 percent, followed by the U.S. at 6.2 percent. PUBG Mobile from Tencent, Garena Free Fire from Garena, and Ludo King from Gametion rounded out the top five most installed mobile games worldwide for the month.

The latter title, Ludo King, has seen a huge surge in installs amid the COVID-19 pandemic and global lockdowns, accumulating 26.8 million downloads in April, up 45.5 percent from March and 142 percent from February. It’s seen a particularly large surge in India, where its developer is based, since a lockdown in the country was initiated in March.

It was a big month on the overall downloads chart for publishers outside the hyper-casual space, with Playrix the only company to have two titles in the top 10. Gardenscapes and Fishdom generated 37.7 million and 22 million installs, respectively, in April, in what proved to be a record month for downloads for both games. The surge in installs has helped push Playrix beyond 1 billion lifetime downloads.
