Slap Kings from Lion Studios was the most downloaded mobile game worldwide for March 2020 with 35.6 million installs. The countries with the most installs of the app during this period were the United States at 13.6 percent of its total downloads and India at 9.4 percent. Draw Climber from Voodoo was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month with 31.7 million installs. The countries with the largest number of Draw Climber installs were Indonesia at 9.5 percent, followed by Russia at 8.6 percent. PUBG Mobile from Tencent, Woodturning from Voodoo, and Perfect Cream from Playgendary rounded out the top five most installed mobile games worldwide for the month.

PUBG Mobile had its fourth best month ever for downloads in March, up 35.7 percent from February 2020. March also represented the battle royale title’s best-ever month for mobile revenue, which comes amid the game’s second anniversary, offering Royale Pass levelling rewards, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Outside of the top five most downloaded games, new entries to the overall rankings include Spiral Roll from Voodoo, which generated 23.3 million installs in March, and Brain Test from Unico Studio, which accumulated 22.8 million downloads. It proved to be a particularly good week for hyper-casual specialist Voodoo, which had three games in the top 10 download charts.

March 2020 was the best month ever for mobile game downloads globally, with installs up 51 percent year-over-year to more than 3.3 billion. Such a surge can be put down to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns across the globe, as people look for entertainment while stuck at home.
