As the year 2020 drew to a close, the shooter games category on Android devices saw remarkable activity. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look at how the top five shooter games performed in the United States during the fourth quarter.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 2 from Activision Publishing, Inc. showed a strong presence with its revenue peaking at $1.8M in the week of December 21st. Downloads hit a high point of 138K in mid-October, while weekly active users (WAU) reached a peak of nearly 1.8M in mid-October and eventually settled at around 1.4M by the end of December.
Sniper 3D:Gun Shooting Games by Wildlife Studios had a consistent quarter, with revenue fluctuating around the $140K to $170K mark and downloads peaking at over 105K in the last week of December. The game's WAU saw a steady increase, culminating at 643K in the final week of 2020.
Garena International I's Free Fire: The Chaos experienced a surge in revenue, crossing the $3M threshold in the last two weeks of December. The game also saw its downloads and WAU grow, with downloads reaching 75K in early December and WAU surpassing 2.6M by the year's end.
Ninja’s Creed:3D Shooting Game from 707 INTERACTIVE had modest revenue figures, with a slight increase to $6.8K in the last week of December. The game's downloads showed an initial strong performance but dipped to 25K in early December before rising again to 29K by the end of the month. WAU for Ninja’s Creed also saw a rise towards the end of Q4, finishing at almost 40K.
Finally, PUBG MOBILE by Level Infinite had its revenue at around $790K towards the end of December, while downloads saw an increase to 70K in the same period. WAU for PUBG MOBILE showed a gradual increase throughout the quarter, ending at 548K.
