As the year 2020 drew to a close, Australian Android users continued to show interest in wellness apps, seeking to maintain their mental and physical health. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a snapshot of how the top wellness applications fared in the fourth quarter of the year.
Headspace: Sleep & Meditation witnessed a steady increase in revenue, peaking at 23 thousand in mid-December, while downloads saw a significant jump to 9 thousand in the same period. Weekly active users fluctuated but ended the quarter on a high note with 45 thousand active users.
Calm - Sleep, Meditate, Relax saw its revenue reaching nearly 19 thousand in late October, with a notable decline afterwards. Downloads remained relatively stable, ending the year with a surge to 7 thousand. The app's active user base initially increased to 35 thousand but then experienced a dip, recovering to over 33 thousand by year's end.
Intellect: Create A Better You, despite not generating revenue, had an impressive start in October with over 4 thousand downloads, which then gradually decreased to 2 thousand by the end of December. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting at nearly 6 thousand and dropping to 4 thousand.
Avrora - Sleep Booster experienced its highest revenue of 4 thousand in late November. Download trends were a bit erratic, with a peak of nearly 4 thousand in mid-November followed by a slump and then a rebound to 3 thousand by the close of December. Weekly active users saw a peak of 5 thousand in the same month.
Lastly, Smiling Mind: Meditation App did not generate revenue, but downloads remained consistent, with a slight decrease to under 1 thousand by December's end. The app's active users started strong at over 7 thousand but saw a gradual decline to 6 thousand by the quarter's conclusion.
