As the year 2020 came to a close, the performance of fast food and fast casual restaurant apps on the iOS platform in Australia showed varied trends in user engagement. Data from Sensor Tower provides us with a snapshot of how these apps fared in the fourth quarter.
MyMacca's witnessed a significant peak in downloads during the first week of November with roughly 79K downloads, a notable jump from the 28K downloads seen in the last week of October. Weekly active users for MyMacca's also saw a high in early November with over 430K but gradually decreased to approximately 264K by the end of December.
Domino's experienced its highest number of weekly downloads in mid-October, reaching nearly 52K before settling back down to around 10K by the year's end. The app's active users mirrored this high point with close to 97K in October, tapering off to about 46K active users in the final week of December.
KFC - Order On The Go showed a more stable pattern in downloads, starting at around 12K in late September and experiencing a slight increase to over 21K in early October. Weekly active users for KFC's app reached a high of around 167K in early October but saw a decline to just over 148K by the end of December.
Hungry Jack’s Deals & Ordering downloads fluctuated modestly, with a peak at over 12K in late November. Active users for the app were relatively stable, with a slight increase from around 91K in late September to 96K in late November, and then a minor decline to around 89K by the year's end.
Lastly, Boost Juice saw a gradual increase in downloads from 4.5K in late September to a peak of 7.4K in late November. Active users for the app rose from approximately 16K to around 20K in the same period before slightly decreasing to 17K at the close of the quarter.
