In the fourth quarter of 2020, the UK's fast food and fast casual restaurant mobile app landscape saw varying levels of engagement and downloads on the iOS platform, according to data from Sensor Tower.
McDonald’s U.K. experienced a significant spike in downloads, reaching 87K in the week of October 26th. Weekly active users peaked at 426K in the same week, with the trend generally showing a rise towards the end of the quarter.
The Subway® - Official App witnessed its highest number of downloads in the week of October 12th, with approximately 66K downloads. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, reaching over 53K in the same week.
For Costa Coffee Club, downloads saw a peak of 21K in mid-October, while the weekly active users reached their highest at 178K in the week of November 16th. The overall trend for the quarter showed a gradual decline in both downloads and active users.
Domino's Pizza Delivery maintained a steady flow of downloads, with a slight increase to nearly 20K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users remained consistent, hovering around the 130K mark throughout the quarter.
Finally, the KFC App UKI - Order & Delivery saw a surge in downloads to 24K in the first week of November, with weekly active users reaching their zenith of 151K in the same period. The rest of the quarter showed a downward trend in downloads, ending with close to 17K in the final week of December.
