As the year 2020 came to a close, the word puzzle game category on iOS devices saw varied performances across top titles in Europe. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into the trends for downloads, revenue, and weekly active users for these engaging games.
Words of Wonders: Crossword, developed by Fugo, displayed a steady increase in downloads, peaking at nearly 90K in the last week of December. Weekly active users also saw a surge, reaching over 900K in the same period. Meanwhile, revenue showed a slight fluctuation, ending the quarter with approximately $17K.
Wordscapes by PeopleFun, Inc. experienced a significant spike in downloads in late October, hitting over 55K. This was also reflected in the growth of weekly active users, which rose to over 200K by the end of December. Revenue trends for Wordscapes were on an upward trajectory, concluding the quarter at around $39K.
Fanatee's Stop - Categories Word Game showed a remarkable increase in weekly active users, from around 160K to over 300K. Downloads followed a similar pattern, with a notable jump to over 82K in the final week of 2020. Revenue, while modest, grew to just over $2K by year-end.
Word Collect Word Puzzle Games, offered by Super Lucky Games LLC, witnessed a mixed performance with downloads peaking at over 52K in mid-October but then declining towards the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar trend, with a peak of approximately 170K in late October. Revenue fluctuated, ending at around $15K.
Lastly, Wordington: Word Find & Design from Qiiwi Games AB saw its downloads reach over 63K in late October but experienced a decline as the quarter progressed. Weekly active users peaked at over 160K in early November before a decrease to around 83K by the end of December. Revenue trends were modest, with a slight decrease to just under $2K.
