Q4 2020 Performance of Top Beauty Retail Apps in Europe

As the year 2020 came to a close, the beauty retail application sector in Europe saw varying trends in user engagement and downloads, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a glimpse into how the top five apps fared in the fourth quarter.

SEPHORA - Maquillage, Parfum experienced a noticeable increase in downloads, starting the quarter with around 41K and peaking at around 106K in late November before dipping to 54K by the year's end. The weekly active users followed a similar trajectory, increasing from approximately 201K to a high of 290K and then declining to 249K.

Douglas - Parfüm & Kosmetik also saw an uptrend in downloads, with a significant jump to 89K in early November from 36K at the start of the quarter, and then a decrease to 44K downloads by December's last week. The app's weekly active users mirrored this pattern, rising from 154K to a peak of 267K, before falling to around 203K.

LOOKFANTASTIC: Beauty & Makeup downloads surged in early November, reaching 76K from an initial 21K, followed by a decline to 28K towards the end of December. The weekly active users for the app peaked at around 258K in late November, dropping to 176K by the close of the quarter.

GLAMOUR Shopping showed a very different pattern, with a remarkable spike in downloads to 168K in early October, followed by a sharp decline to a mere 280 by December's end. The app's active users peaked at 221K, also in early October, and decreased significantly to 6.6K by the quarter's conclusion. It's worth noting that GLAMOUR Shopping generated revenue throughout the quarter, starting with 192K USD and experiencing fluctuations, ending at a modest 104 USD in the last week.

Lastly, BEAUTY BAY saw its downloads grow from 12K to a peak of 37K in late November, then ending the quarter with around 21K. The weekly active users exhibited growth from the beginning of the quarter at around 81K, peaking at 128K, and slightly decreasing to 111K.
