In the fourth quarter of 2020, the crime game category saw significant player engagement across the United States on both iOS and Android platforms. Sensor Tower data showcases the trends for the top five crime games during this period.
First on the list is Let's Be Cops 3D by Kwalee Ltd, which showed a robust start in October with downloads peaking at nearly 630K and weekly active users hitting over 1M. However, both metrics saw a declining trend towards the end of the quarter, with downloads dropping to around 212K and active users to approximately 400K by late December.
Voodoo's Force Master, despite a modest revenue trend, experienced a surge in downloads in October, reaching over 458K, and active users reached their zenith at 663K. The subsequent months, however, witnessed a decrease with downloads and active users falling to near 91K and 166K respectively.
Lion Studios' Clue Hunter saw a steady decline in downloads from 201K in late September to around 190K by the year's end. Active users followed a similar downtrend from 251K to approximately 230K in the same timeframe.
Hitmasters from AI Games FZ showed an interesting pattern with a steady revenue and a gentle increase in downloads from 76K in mid-October to around 192K at the end of December. The game's weekly active users experienced a significant rise, jumping from 425K to 764K in the same period.
Finally, Gismart's VIP Guard observed a decline in downloads from 138K in early October to 56K by the end of December. The weekly active users also saw a decline from 168K to 74K.
Overall, the top crime games on the unified platform in the US during Q4 2020 showcased varying degrees of engagement, with some titles experiencing peaks and others witnessing declines in both downloads and active user metrics.
